my mind races with thought
staring out over the ledge
thinking of all the times we fought
who the hell cares when you're this close to the edge
i could never escape all the trouble you brought
about how between me and my desires you were a wedge
all those hints you never caught
all the knowledge
all the things that i sought
so this is what i pledge
never to let you abuse my freedom of thought
